Spreading Kindness, One Coffee at a Time

Celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Day 2025

A simple act of kindness can go a long way in a world that can sometimes feel fast-paced and overwhelming. Today, on National Random Acts of Kindness Day 2025, our team took to the streets across Essex and Suffolk with one goal in mind- to spread a little joy and brighten people’s Monday mornings.

Armed with complimentary coffee vouchers, we surprised strangers with an unexpected treat to start their Monday.

Some people were surprised, not expecting a kind gesture on an ordinary Monday morning. Others were delighted, sharing stories of how a free coffee was just the pick-me-up they needed to start their week. Many walked away with a smile and a sippable reminder that kindness is contagious.

What is Random Acts of Kindness Day?
Celebrated every 17th of February, National Random Acts of Kindness Day is a day dedicated to small, thoughtful gestures that make a big impact. The idea is simple: take a moment to do something kind for someone else—whether that’s a friend, a family member, or a complete stranger.

This special day encourages us to step outside our daily routines and focus on the power of kindness. It reminds us that even the smallest actions- like a smile, compliment, or helping hand- can create ripples of positivity.

The movement has grown worldwide, with individuals, schools, and businesses joining in to inspire kindness in communities everywhere. And today, we were proud to play our part.

Inspired to take part?

Even if you didn’t receive one of our coffee vouchers today, you can still be a part of the kindness movement. The beauty of Random Acts of Kindness Day is that it’s easy to take part, and there’s no limit to the ways you can spread kindness.

Here are a few simple ideas:

  • Buy a coffee for a friend or stranger

  • Give someone a heartfelt compliment

  • Leave a kind note for a coworker or loved one

  • Donate to a food bank or charity

  • Hold the door open for someone

  • Send a message to someone who might need a little encouragement

The best part? Kindness doesn’t have to be limited to just one day. We can practice it year-round, making the world a little brighter one small act at a time.

Today was a beautiful reminder that the smallest acts can change the world, whether through a free coffee, a friendly smile, or a thoughtful word. We can all make someone’s day a little better through kindness.

All it takes is one random act of kindness.
