Coming soon: TOAST Colchester
The countdown has started to the opening of TOAST Colchester. This eagerly anticipated branch located in Culver Square, in the heart of Britain’s first city, will open its doors to the public on Sunday the 10th of September 2023.
Behind the blacked-out windows, the store is buzzing with activity. The branch's centerpiece, a bespoke counter, has just been installed, and the list of tasks is dwindling.

TOAST Colchester is our 5th location and our biggest branch by far. Our other branches are in Braintree, Chelmsford, Witham, and Sudbury.
Spread over two floors, TOAST Colchester features our trademark contemporary but quirky environment, complete with comfy seating and a laid-back vibe. There is also an outdoor seating area, a 1st-floor balcony, and workstations (also on the first floor) for when you’d like to WFT (work from TOAST).
Rob Ely, one of our founders said, “We’re very excited to get this branch open, as it’s been in the pipeline for such a long time. It will be a vibrant addition to the city, especially in Culver Square alongside the possible redevelopment of Debenhams. Whilst we look may look like “just a coffee shop” on the outside, we’re different on the inside, championing local and supporting others, and doing the right thing when it comes to the environment. We’re looking forward to meeting everyone in Colchester and getting behind that message, getting involved in the community and doing what we can to help.”
