The festive season is here! The air is full of the sounds and smells of Christmas, from festive songs and merry tunes to the sweet smell of Hot Chocolates, Cinnamon, and Winter Spices. Our stores have transformed into Winter Wonderlands with white Christmas trees and paper snowflakes, twinkling lights, and decorations as far as the eye can see. During this magical time of year, we’re part of Christmas celebrations in our local communities, in particular, the Christmas Light Switch-ons. Will we see you there?
Christmas Light Switch Ons:
Colchester: 15th November
Join us at Colchester’s annual Big Festive Switch On. Experience immersive light installations, enjoy live performances from local musicians, and explore dazzling light artworks by artist Sue Website at Firstsite Colchester
Then, join in the big countdown and wave off the parade at 5 pm as it moves along the high street, culminating at Mercury Theatre Colchester. The event concludes with an amazing light switch-on party.
TOAST Colchester is open during the festivities, so feel free to drop by to collect your winter warmer and a cup of Christmas cheer. We’re also serving Hot Chocolates in the town.
Chelmsford: 19th November 2023
Chelmsford’s Christmas Light Switch On starts at 10 am, hosted by @chelmsfordforyou. Browse the Christmas market with a festive tipple in hand, participate in the family entertainment, and witness the Christmas light switch-on and firework display at 5 pm.
TOAST Chelmsford will be open during the festivities, so feel free to drop by to pick up your Baileys Hot Chocolate or fuel up with a toastie to get ready for a full day of festive fun.
Sudbury: 24th November 2023
Sudbury’s annual Christmas Light Switch On starts at 5pm in the town centre. Browse the Christmas fair with a cup of something warm in hand, against the backdrop of music, carols, and street entertainment. With fun fair rides, games, magicians, and musicians, it’s the event to celebrate the start the festive season! TOAST Sudbury will be open all day and during the event, so drop by to collect your winter warmer and cup of Christmas cheer.
Braintree: 25th November 2023
Join us at Braintree’s Christmas Market and Switch on event on the 25th November. Take part in entertainment throughout the day from 1pm, including musical guests and performers, face painting and cosplay artists, and browse the Christmas market for unique and unusual gifts. The Christmas lights will be switched on at 5.30pm. TOAST Braintree is open during the festivities, so drop by to collect your Bailey’s Hot Chocolate.
Witham: 2nd December 2023
Witham’s Christmas Fayre returns on Saturday, 2nd December. With a Christmas market, family entertainment — including a visit from Santa AND his reindeer — and a carol service, it’s an event that’s sure to get you in the festive spirit. Starting at 2 pm with a carol service in the Grove Centre, the celebration culminates with the Christmas Light Switch On at 6pm.
